Using Your Strength to Give Back This Season

As we enter November, I find myself reflecting on how we can all use our unique strengths to make the world around us a little better. Thanksgiving, my favorite holiday, is a time focused on family, togetherness, and giving back—and it always feels like a refreshing reminder to use what we’ve built, both physically and mentally, to uplift others.

I’m so proud of the community we have here at KG Strong. You’re a group that not only shows up for yourselves but also supports one another and finds joy in building each other up. This month, I want to encourage you to see your strength as a gift to share, whether it’s a small gesture or a big effort to give back. Physical strength makes us capable, but it’s what we do with that capability that truly matters. Here are a few ways we can use our strength for good this month:

  • Lend a Hand in Small Moments: Use that strength to help someone carry a heavy load, like a box or groceries, down the street. If you see a parent wrestling a stroller up the stairs, offer to lift one end. Little acts of service like this can mean the world to someone else.
  • Encourage and Support Movement: If you know someone who’s trying to get active again but feels stuck, invite them to join you in a class or simply go for a walk together. Your support might be just the push they need.
  • Join a Fundraiser or Volunteer Your Energy: Participate in a local charity run or race, and rally friends to join. This combines our love for movement with a tangible impact for a cause.
  • Make it a Thanksgiving Tradition: If you’re not sure where to start, you’re welcome to join me for the 10th annual Emily’s Entourage fundraiser on Thanksgiving morning at 9 AM, where we’ll come together to sweat, lift, and raise funds for critical cystic fibrosis research. Giving back as a community feels especially powerful, and events like this are a wonderful reminder of the collective strength we share.

Let’s celebrate our strength by sharing it. Together, we can use the fitness and wellness we’ve cultivated to make a real difference in someone’s life. This November, let’s keep building each other up and spreading the joy of giving back.

Stay strong, and thank you for being such a thoughtful, inspiring community.
